1735 Antique J. Weinmann Botanical Mezzotint Engraving. Abrotanum. Southern Wood For Sale

This is a rare authentic antique original handcolored botanical mezzotint engraving bookplate/print by Johann Wilhelm Weinmann, Abrotanum Lusitanicum Rorismarini folio majis and Abrotanum Lusitanicum alterum Souther wood with Rosemary leaves. Produced in 1735. This is from Weinmann\'s work, PHYTANTHOZA INCONOGRAPHIA etc., published in Regensburg from 1735 to 1745. This was the first botanical book to successfully use mezzotint, ( a copper engraving on which the surface has been roughened for shading and scraped smooth for lighter areas). In good condition and measures 10 1/4x15in.

Thanks.
