18th C Augsburg Heraldic Engraving Electoral Palatinate Kurpfalz Klauber:
$550.00
Original mid-18th century copperplate engraving depicting the heraldic arms of the Electoral Palatinate (Kurpfalz), published and engraved by Joseph & Johann Klauber of Augsburg (Aug. Vind.), one of the most important German engraving houses of the period. Printed on laid paper with visible chain lines, this sheet measures approximately 15 x 9 1/4 inches and retains full margins outside the plate impression. The composition features the crowned Palatine arms with Latin inscription celebrating the prestige of the Electoral House within Church and Empire. Condition is consistent with age, showing even toning and handling wear, with a small chip at the upper edge as shown. Presented framed; the engraving is unexamined out of frame since rehousing. A genuine 18th-century Augsburg heraldic print, not a later reproduction, well suited for collectors of Holy Roman Empire, German history, and heraldry.
