A wonderful piece of Depression-era Shirley Temple licensed memorabilia — this softcover poetry collection was published by the Saalfield Publishing Company in 1936, at the absolute peak of Shirley Temple\'s child-star fame. The cover features a pictorial silhouette portrait cameo of Shirley Temple in a blue oval medallion. Illustrated throughout by Binnie Brueggeman.

A sweet added touch:the book is inscribed inside the front cover, \"To Beverly Ann, from Grandmother & Daddy, Xmas 1936\" — a lovely period gift inscription that ties this copy to a real family Christmas nearly 90 years ago.

Condition — please read carefully:This copy shows significant wear consistent with its age and heavy love over the decades. The spine binding has failed and the text block is now loose/detached from the covers (see photo of the spine). The front cover shows soiling, edge wear, and a small tear/chip at the top edge. This is a well-lovedreading/collector copy, not a display-ready book — priced accordingly. Great candidate for a Shirley Temple collection, a paper conservation/rebinding project, or display in a protective sleeve.
