Vintage Blue Ridge Glass Corporation salesman sample case from Kingsport, Tennessee, featuring an extensive collection of original architectural and industrial glass samples.
The wooden presentation case contains approximately 40+ glass samples in a variety of textures, patterns and finishes, including figured, frosted, polished and wire glass. Several pieces retain their original Blue Ridge Glass Corp. paper identification labels, including AKLO Ribbed Glass, Polished Reglex Glass, Squarex Glass and Frosted Pointex Glass.
The inside of the lid retains the original Blue Ridge Figured and Wire Glass product chart identifying the different glass styles offered by the company and noting that Blue Ridge products were sold by Libbey-Owens-Ford Glass Company of Toledo, Ohio.
The case measures approximately 8” x 7” x 4 1/2”. Original wooden dividers, hinges and front closure remain present.
Wonderful piece of American industrial, architectural and building-material history. This would have been used as a portable sample/display case to demonstrate the different types of architectural glass available to customers, builders or architects.
Vintage condition with considerable age-related wear to the wooden case, including scratches, finish wear, staining and other signs of use. Paper labels show age and wear. Glass samples vary in condition and some have edge chips/nicks consistent with their age and use. Please review all photos carefully for condition and exactly what is included.
