Up for your consideration is an original vintage black-and-white WWII press photograph dated May 30, 1944, documenting the production of The Maple Leaf, a daily newspaper published by the Canadian Army for Canadian soldiers serving in Italy.
The photograph features Canadian servicemen John B. Moran of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan, and Owen G. Holt of Oxbow, Saskatchewan, preparing copies of the newspaper.
According to the accompanying original typewritten Canadian Army Overseas Photo caption, approximately 16,000 copies were counted and wrapped before breakfast for free distribution to military units.
The four-page newspaper contained no advertising and was intended to keep Canadian soldiers informed about the war and events back home.

Condition: Vintage condition with minor surface wear, handling marks, and age-related imperfections. Original typewritten press caption accompanies the photograph. Handwritten identification markings appear on the reverse.
