Authentic early–mid 1950s toddler shorts, preserved as a mid-century children’s textile collectible. These feature a charming allover storybook-style train and locomotive print on red cotton, typical of post-war juvenile design.
Of particular note is the construction:
Two-panel body (front and back only)
No side seams
Straight-stitched seams throughout
Original stitched cotton elastic waistband (not a later replacement)
This style of construction and printing is consistent with 1950s mass-market children’s playwear and predates later serged seams and modern elastic casings.

Due to age and fragility, this piece is best suited for collection, display, or study, rather than regular wear.
