First edition hardcover in blue cloth boards, housed in the original illustrated dust jacket. The jacket shows notable wear consistent with age: chipping and a closed tear at the spine head, soiling and edge wear, with a vertical crease line down the front panel. Text block has light to moderate foxing/spotting visible on the front endpapers and prelims, heavier scattered spotting on the rear free endpaper. There\'s a contemporary handwritten gift inscription dated 28/1/59 on the front pastedown/endpaper, along with a vintage bookseller\'s label from Robertson & Mullens Ltd, Melbourne. A period book review clipping is tucked inside. Binding is sound and tight; map and contents intact.
