In July 1776, Caesar Rodney rode through the night during a thunderstorm to cast Delaware\'s deciding vote for independence. His journey helped secure support for the Declaration of Independence and changed the course of history.
The coin has a rare Partial Clad Layer Error - the coin\'s copper core is exposed on the reverse under the horse\'s belly. This is a genuine U.S. Mint Error - it occurs during the minting process when clad metal does not fully cover, or is worn away exposing the core.
