19th c Eglomise Reverse Painted Glass Paris & London Shield Coat of Arms Bouvais

Two very old reverse painted coat of arm/shields for Paris and London. From research, these may have been \'decorative souvenirs\' purchased from travels to Europe from the late 1800s/early 1900s. Each measures about 12\" square at the widest points and are made of thick/heavy glass with a beveled edge around each. The painting on each is very well done. Couldn\'t find anything out about the artist, but both are signed lower part \'Bouvais, Paris\'. Eacch has a wire for hanging (screws applied through the glass to hold the wire in place). Both have canvas material affixed to the back. There are some condition issues; some chips around the edges and gold loss; one large chip in the top corner of the \'Paris\' shield. Some chipping around the mounting wire screws on both shields. Some of the reverse painting has faded slightly on the left side of the Paris shield--can see some of the canvas backing showing through. No repairs to any of the paint or glass.
