I WILL BE WATCHING . I HAVE CONSULTED ABOUT THIS BEFORE I DECIDED TO POST IT ON . Finally you can make your blue box locos look like the RTR locos, at least the front and the back.This is for SD40-2 locosNOTE: I have printed two different sizes. The front pilot is a little longer than the back. The reason is the way the shell is made. I will mark front for the front pilot so you know. I would still dry fit them first to make sure you glue them on the right side.I have printed and changed the design several time and spend hours and hours to make it ready for sale.
I print only in black color because, the material prints better than white.the black one possibly needs to be painted black still before installation.
The draft gear box opening is almost made to size to fit a kadee box. You might need to do some filling to make it fit. I have made it a little smaller opening on purpose.
You have to glue the piece on your loco. Do dry fit first and make sure it fits with the draft gear box and the coupler then, glue it on.
In order to fir the chassis inside the shell after installing the pilots, you have to file or cut the metal coupler mounts in the front and rear of the loco where the draft gear boxes screw on. I have included a pic with white marking to show approximately how much you need to cut or file. I would do it a little at a time.You have to use low shank type kadee coupler to make sure the coupler is the correct height. I have included a pic of the coupler.If your loco\'s shell look like the one I have included (last pic) this pilots should fit.
The shell and the coupler are not includedI live in CA so, costs me more to ship out than the one who lives in the middle of US.
