Up for sale is an incredibly scarce, highly unique piece of industrial manufacturing memorabilia from Central Pennsylvania. This is an original 2002 first edition copy of "Lock Haven Mill 1880 - 2002: More than a Century of Excellence," published directly by the International Paper Company.
This corporate history volume was printed in an extremely limited run and distributed exclusively to mill employees and team members as a final keepsake upon the permanent closure of the historic Lock Haven, PA paper mill facility in 2002.
**Includes Elite Industrial Machinery Artifact:**
The true highlight of this book is the pristine museum-grade artifact mounted securely inside the front cover window. It features an authentic, physical segment of genuine "Dandy Wire" removed directly from the mill's operating dandy rolls. This specific wire segment showcases the beautifully woven raised typography used to press the iconic "HAMMERMILL PAPER" watermark directly into the paper stock during manufacturing.
**Excellent Internal Historical Content:**
- Features a highly detailed, full-page Blueprint Schematic Diagram of the Lock Haven Mill Paper Machine, Coater, and Super Calender systems (ranging from the Jordan and Head Box to the Suction Boxes, Dryers, and Winder).
- Includes a formal commemorative introductory letter and portrait plate from the final Mill Manager, Dennis Castonguay.
- Packed with local historical timelines, operational milestones, employee records, and industrial photography tracking the plant from its 1880 origins to its final 2002 shift.
**Condition Details:**
This rare piece of industrial ephemera is in excellent, choice condition. The interior pages are remarkably crisp, white, and clean, with absolutely no internal writing, highlighting, or missing pages. The binding structure is firm and structurally square. The physical dandy wire insert is perfectly intact under its original protective display boundary. The blue textured cloth hardcover wraps look very sharp with bright, un-faded gold gilt lettering on the front cover and spine, showing only the most microscopic trace of corner tip shelf rubbing. Please view all high-resolution photos to evaluate the condition.
**Shipping & Handling:**
Ships flat, packed with meticulous care. The book will be sealed in a moisture-proof plastic wrap shield, padded securely within bubble packaging, and shipped flat inside a rigid cardboard shipping box to prevent spine or corner damage during transit. Shipped economically via USPS Media Mail with full tracking included.
