Before and during installation, the installer must:
- Verify transmission identification, mounting locations, connectors, sensors, and OEM numbers
- Use the correct manufacturer-specified automatic transmission fluid
- Replace applicable seals, gaskets, filters, O-rings, and one-time-use components
- Properly flush or replace the transmission cooler and cooler lines where applicable
- Verify proper cooler flow before operating the vehicle
- Inspect the torque converter installation and engagement before mating the transmission to the engine
- Perform all required programming, initialization, quick-learn, calibration, reset, and adaptive relearn procedures
- Follow manufacturer-approved fluid filling and fluid-level procedures
- Correct all related engine, electrical, wiring, cooling-system, sensor, and control-module faults
