Only 250,000 examples were produced, making this a very limited-mintage modern U.S. half dollar.
Unlike many modern West Point coins, these were not available for individual purchase directly from the U.S. Mint. They were released into circulation, making them available to collectors through bank rolls, circulation finds, and the secondary market.
