It was addressed to Hampus Horner at the Palace Hotel in Copenhagen, Denmark. The recipient had moved or traveled, prompting a handwritten forward notice in blue ink across the bottom: \"Rom, Italien (Please Forward)\" - redirecting the letter to Rome, Italy. The circular transit or receiving datestamp on the right side reads \"KØBENHAVN - 9.8.49\" (August 9, 1949), tracking its arrival in Denmark before it was rerouted to Italy.
