A Japanese Satsuma Cabinet Vase, in the Manner of Taizan Yohei IX
Meiji period (1868–1912)
Of bulbous form, rising to a short, slightly flared neck, finely decorated in polychrome enamels and gilt with a dense naturalistic arrangement of flowering plants. The blossoms are rendered in delicately graduated tones, interwoven with finely delineated green foliage, the composition extending around the body.
The neck is finished with softly graduated gilt decoration. Unsigned. The refined botanical treatment, subtle colouring and naturalistic rendering of the flowers and foliage are closely related to the work associated with Taizan Yohei IX.
Height: approx. 10 cm.
Condition:Very good overall condition. No chips, cracks or restoration observed.
