This is a matching set of four (4) vintage dinner plates by Wood & Sons (Staffordshire, England) in the highly collectible English Scenery (Blue) pattern.

These striking ironstone plates feature a detailed, romanticized British country landscape complete with a horse-drawn cart, rustic cottage, and a rich, dense floral border.

The central vignette depicts a traditional, idyllic British rural landscape featuring a horse-drawn carriage passing by a cottage and large trees.

The rim is intricately detailed with a heavy, continuous border of large blue roses and peonies

Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, or flea bites. Vivid blue transfer design with bright, clean white. One plate has dark back side stain Minimal to no surface utensil marks. May show light, age-appropriate crazing or typical manufacturing glaze pops on the back, two do for sure which is common for ironstone of this era.
