\'California Illustrated\' is edited by F.K. Warren and is from 1892. it is a larger hardcover book with wear to the covers and their edges and corners. the pages are framed in aged staining but are otherwise very clean. There are roughly 80 wood engraved illustrations by the best artists from thumbnail size to full page illustrations. some pages are brittle at their tips but I see no large tears. the binding is solid. all 3 sides are gilded and the front cover has silver gilding.
\'Lights & Shadows of Yosemite\' is by Katherine Taylor and printed in 1926. The covers are lightly worn with part of the cardboard exposed at the corners. There is some smudging and penciled numbers to the endpapers and some coffee staining present at page 60 onwards otherwise the pages are mostly clean and free of dog ears. There are only a few minor tears. the stains do not interfere with the text. the binding is solid. This book is filled with black and white photographs that have just a hint of color.
