Historical Overview:
Up for sale is a rare, beautifully preserved piece of early 19th-century English ceramic history. These stunning Regency-period sauce tureen features its highly elusive matching base underplate. Produced by Chamberlain’s Worcester, the set bears the historic transfer-printed mark from their prestigious London retail showroom at155 New Bond Street, which operated exclusively between1816 and 1840. The crest features the Royal Coat of Arms, indicating a Royal Warrant to supply the British monarchy.The pattern showcases rich, deep cobalt flow blue scrollwork paired with hand-painted polychrome floral motifs in pink and orange tones, finished with heavy, hand-applied gold leaf gilding along the scalloped edges and ornate foliate scroll handles.
In pretty decent shape as the pics show with some minor wear / losses to the decoration as well as some glaze wear / imperfections. It also has a couple imperfections like that seen in pics 10-12 and they come exactly as shown. The covered dishes measure 6 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 6 1/4" and the underplates measure 8 3/4" x 7 1/4".
About the Company: Chamberlain's Worcester

• Founding (1788):Robert Chamberlain, who was previously the head decorator at the primary Dr. John Wall Worcester porcelain factory, left the company to start his own independent decorating workshop in Worcester, England. Initially, he bought blank porcelain bodies from other factories (like Caughley) and hand-painted them.
• In-House Production (c. 1792):By the early 1790s, Chamberlain expanded his operations to manufacture his own proprietary porcelain paste. The company rapidly earned a formidable reputation for producing incredibly rich, heavily gilded, and meticulously hand-detailed tableware.
• The Royal Showrooms:Their items became highly fashionable among the British aristocracy. In 1802, the Prince of Wales (later King George IV) visited the factory and ordered a massive, lavish dinner service, paving the way for the company to receive an officialRoyal Warrant. To cater directly to elite London society, Chamberlain opened a high-end retail showroom at155 New Bond Streetin 1816.
• The Corporate Merger (1840):In 1840, Chamberlain's Worcester merged with its longtime local rival, Flight, Barr & Barr.
