Up for consideration today is a wonderful museum deaccessioned victorian girls/childrens dress featuring a classic white base with wonderful gathers and lace details. Drawstring top ties off at the back with two sweet buttons at the waist. Just lovely!
This is a museum deaccessioned piece, so there is an original accession label attached on the interior on a cotton label which can easily be removed. This has the item’s identification number as well as “1850s-1860s.” Very neat.
Condition: a few minor stains mainly at the front of the dress, all quite small in nature, as you will see in the photographs. These may remove, I have not attempted as to leave the dress in the condition it likely came to the museum in.
I counted three very tiny holes, largest one around 0.2 of an inch. Lace hem is fairly good besides a two areas that will need a small re-stitch, largest flaw is one 1 inch area where lace is missing. One part of button loop needs re stitch. All else is great on this piece, overall very structurally strong. Original tie within and buttons at the back are a real treat.
