Antique F.C. Leypoldt tool, patented April 16, 1878, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Believed to date from the late 1870s–1880s.
Constructed of heavy cast iron, steel, and brass with a wonderful original aged patina. This piece has been well cared for and regularly oiled over the years, which has helped preserve the moving parts and mechanism.
In perfect working order — everything moves and operates smoothly as intended. Shows normal age-related wear consistent with an antique tool of this period.
