Antique 18th-century French engraving after François Boucher (1703–1770), presented in an ornate black and gilt frame.The print is based on drawings by François Boucher, a French Rococo artist. The subjects are *chinoiserie*—European imaginative interpretations of Chinese themes, a popular trend in the 18th century.• The publisher of print is Gabriel Huquier (1695–1772), based on Rue Saint-Jacques in Paris. The inscription \"C.P.R.\" stands for *avec privilège du roi* (\"with royal privilege\"), a standard mark on French prints of that era.• Technique: etching and engraving (intaglio printing from a metal plate).Thema: a young woman riding an ox• Inscriptions on the sheet: \"F. Boucher, In.\" (after a drawing by Boucher) and \"Huquier, Sculp. et Exc.\" (engraved and published by Huquier). Sheet number \"6\"; the letter \"A\" appears at the top.• Verified via the Metropolitan Museum of Art: this is Plate 6, \"Chinoiserie with a woman riding an ox,\" from the series *Premier Livre de Sujets et Pastorales*.
