Antique 18thC Engraving Portrait Charles Theodore Elector Palatine Framed For Sale

Original antique engraved portrait of Charles Theodore, Elector Palatine, after the marble bust by Mr. Ling, engraved by Johann Martin Will. This is an 18th-century European engraving depicting Charles Theodore in profile within a classical architectural surround, printed on laid paper with visible plate mark. The inscription below reads “Gravé d’après le Buste en marbre de Mr. Ling” and “Joh. Martin Will exc. A.V.”, identifying the engraver and source sculpture. The print shows consistent age toning, foxing, and surface wear appropriate to its age, with no modern restoration observed. The edges of the paper exhibit minor undulation and are gently touching the glass in places, consistent with age and long-term framing. Housed in an old German frame with a Mannheim framemaker’s label on the verso. Frame measures approximately 19½ x 13 inches.
