Stunning Antique 1900s–1920s Glass Beaded Bag
This is a beautiful, genuine early 20th-century flapper era purse. This piece features a striking pleated scalloped silhouette composed of thousands of tightly woven champagne colored glass micro beads that catch the light beautifully.The handbag is built onto a heavily detailed, ornate metal frame showcasing gorgeous period filigree engraving work and a classic secure kiss-lock clasp at the top. It comes complete with its original metal link chain handle.
Condition:
• Esthetic: The bag is in original, uncleaned antique condition. It looks like it has been re-sewn in places. The silk inside and the metal frame has age related wear.
• Structure: The beaded body is largely intact with the beautiful draped design still holding strong.
• Hardware: The ornate frame and chain handle have a deep vintage patina. The kiss-clasp mechanism opens and snaps shut securely.
It measures out to 12” long including the chain strap and 7” wide.
