Description
Unusualantique flying goose / waterfowl automobile hood ornament or radiator mascot, believed to date from the1920sā1930s era.
The ornament features a dramatic streamlined bird in flight with itslong neck extended forward, elongated body and large upright wings. It is mounted to a teardrop-shaped metal plate and has a distinctive early automobilia appearance.
The piece isunmarked. I have found no manufacturer name, automobile emblem, part number or patent number. The exact maker and original vehicle application are thereforeunknown. It may have been produced as an aftermarket automobile accessory rather than for a specific vehicle.
Condition
Original used condition withconsiderable age-related wear, oxidation, pitting, surface corrosion, discoloration and loss of the original finish. The metal has not been cleaned or restored. Please review all photographs carefully, as they show the actual condition of the ornament.
