This sculpture is signed and on the bottom has an other mark maybe from the foundry.
Vintage Antique E G CONN 501 WODERPHONE TYPE BELL FRONT EUPHONIUM Serial No 252308 Dates to 1927The bell-front type of bell is detachable and can be adjusted to throw sound outward into desire direction. It has the Conn light action valves the run smoothly but then I am not an expert but I being a novice was able to belt out Mary Had A Little LampThe serial no is 352308 so that would be late 1927 because in 1928 it started at 252900The bell is engraved with E.G CONN Ltd Elkhart Inc USA / By the mouth piece insert area it says 50 I / and by horn insert area 18. It has two mouth pieces one says Conn 3 the other Reynolds 12C. Looking at other sale I believe and have taken photos of what I think is a missing support piece. Over all plays and sounds great and would be a great addition to any collectionI found all of this information that says this is a model 501 that was started in 1923 and had many new features that made a great new sound.this info was found by looking at past sales and some internet research so please message me if I am incorrect
