Absolutely extraordinary - a classic hand stitched crewel piece in very unusual colors. It has vibrant coral, pink, orange, lavender, beige and gray intricately embroidered into a very inventive floral design on a heavy natural, unbleached linen ground (perhaps homespun). It has hand done hemstitching on all four sides. It could be used as a table cover, a bed cover or a curtain, perhaps for upholstery. We are concurrently listing another smaller piece of this fabric.
The condition is excellent, especially for its age. We find that some of the darker grey threads (which is used to outline the figures) is thinning and/or falling out
