Authentic mid-19th-century primitive folk-art ice skates (circa 1830s–1860s). These scarce, blacksmith-made skates feature runners resourcefully hand-forged from repurposed high-carbon steel wood files/rasps to hold a sharp edge on pond ice.
Features Design: Desirable, dramatic "swan neck" curl-toe Dutch profile.
Platform: Hand-carved hardwood retaining early red-oxide/milk paint finish.
Bindings: Includes original, authentic weathered leather straps (one heel strap is missing.
Size: Classic standard size, measuring approximately 13 inches overall.
Condition-Excellent Antique Condition: Beautiful, undisturbed rustic patina.Metal/Wood: Expected surface oxidation, pitting, and scuffs consistent with 150+ years of age.
Straps: Original leather is intact but highly aged, brittle, and fragile/torn in spots.
