Antique German wax-over paper-mache dollApprox. 30" tall, and a rarer find in this sizeShe's a pumpkin head type and has beautiful blue fixed glass eyes and painted boots; she likely dates to the 1850s-60s
Her dress is antique and may be original & her underclothes and wig look like vintage replacements; the clothing is sewn on but what I can see of her body looks okay; she is gauze-bodied, but I was able to look under her clothes a little and I can see she has stockinette material on her torso, indicating a likely repair at some time
Antique and far from new, showing expected antique wear and some cracks/age damage to the paper mache but not too bad, given her antiquated age; her wax coating has worn away over the years, she has no leaks and she's intact, with no missing limbs and she has no storage odors, etc.;all-in-all, she's in overall good shape for a doll this old
She would be a wonderful addition to an antique doll collection and at her large size she displays well
