This is a stunning, authentic piece of French porcelain history: an Antique A. Klingenberg & Charles Dwenger (AK / CD) Limoges Hand-Painted Serving Plate, dating to the 1900–1910 period. This beautiful Edwardian-era cake or bread platter features an exquisite, finely detailed pink Scottish Thistle motif. The blossoms are beautifully textured with delicate, hand-applied white enamel accent dots (morae) that elevate the artistry. The central design is framed by a soft, airbrushed pale sage green border, a scalloped rim, and elegant raised beaded molding. A standout feature of this piece is its magnificent dual handles, finished in an intentional factory-applied sponge-gilded (stippled) gold design. Rather than a solid flat coat, this period-correct technique was masterfully dabbed on to allow the white porcelain base to catch candlelight, creating a gorgeous, mottled shimmer.

Condition: This plate is in excellent antique condition for being over 115 years old. No chips, cracks, hairlines, or flea bites anywhere along the delicate scalloped rim or handles. The hand-painted floral details and green gradient remain remarkably crisp, vibrant, and free of notable fading. The intentional sponge-gilded finish on the handles is beautifully preserved as originally decorated at the factory.
