Up for sale is an authentic antique Chinese hand-carved white nephrite Hetian jade handling piece.
This detailed carving features a rare motif, depicting three intricately intertwined badgers in a circular group. In Chinese culture, this represents the gathering of triple happiness, prosperity, and generational blessings.
The piece exhibits a beautiful waxy luster with natural light brown russet iron skin inclusions on the top badger's back, which historic craftsmen intentionally utilized to showcase the mineral's natural character. Under close inspection, the piece shows clear signs of traditional manual tooling and handwork inside the deep pierced openwork, consistent with Qing Dynasty (18th to 19th Century) jade-working techniques. It transitions into a beautiful, even celadon-white tone.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with natural surface wear and patina appropriate for its age.
