Up for sale is an exquisite late 19th / early 20th-century antique French carved mother-of-pearl cheroot/cigarette holder, complete with its original presentation case.
Details & Features:
- Material: Fine carved mother-of-pearl (nacre) featuring a classic spiral fluted design tapering to a smooth mouthpiece. Displays beautiful natural iridescent sheen and chatoyancy throughout.
- Original Case: Housed in its original leather-covered, velvet- and silk-lined fitted case. The interior silk lid is stamped in gold lettering: "A L'ORIENTAL - PARIS - 17, RUE GAY LUSSAC 5e - GALERIE DE CHARTRES, PALAIS ROYAL 1er".
- Period: Circa 1890s–1910s (Belle Époque era).
- Condition: Excellent antique condition. The mother-of-pearl stem shows light natural age wear with no major chips or cracks. The original case opens and closes securely with expected exterior age-related patina and minor wear to the lining. Please inspect all high-resolution photos for exact cosmetic condition.
