Listing for an authentic vintage mid to late 19th century wall hanging / tapestry. It is all handmade and hand woven. Even the background fabric that has the embroidery work. The foundation material is, I believe, is all wool or stinging nettle jute. It has a texture of of silk but it is not silk, there is no loose or hidden ends to test it. The embroidery is all wool. The border is bullion / silk copper thread. I am guessing it is French with a fountain, grapes, birds. A souvenir you could get on a European Grand Tour. It does have a couple of moth nips and non-smoker owned. No cookstove soot or tobacco yellowing. The colors are muted from age but no sun damage. It measures 24\" wide, 43\" high. It has a wooden rod built into the top to help keep its shape. There are no makers marks or signatures anywhere.swedish danish
