Elegant antique French decorative pedestal tazza dating from the Napoleon III period, second half of the 19th century.
Made in France, this richly ornamented piece features a circular shallow dish supported by a sculptural central column and an elaborate tripod base. Its design reflects the opulent decorative vocabulary of the Second Empire, combining classical inspiration with intricate floral and architectural detailing.
The circular upper dish is framed by a finely decorated border featuring repeating foliate motifs. The central baluster-shaped stem displays scrolling acanthus leaves, while the substantial tripod base is embellished with foliage, floral garlands, grape clusters, and pronounced scrolling feet.
The gold-toned metal surface, likely gilt bronze or a related copper alloy, has developed a warm, naturally aged patina that accentuates the depth and relief of the ornamentation.
