Antique French Spelter Soldier Figure on Wood Base Spanish Infantryman Garniture:

This antique cast spelter soldier is 14" tall. The finish is a bit worn and he is missing either a flag or pike. I made the mahogany base some years ago for another piece that was subsequently broken. I threw the other broken item away and kept the base. I think the statue fits it fairly well. The statue itself was likely made in France sometime between 1880 and 1910. It was probably part of a garniture set, and had companion pieces for decorating a mantle clock display.
