Although this piece needs a repair, it still displays well. So if you are going to keep this on a shelf or in a cabinet as part of a collection, I doubt the casual observer would notice. It should not be put into service without reinforcing the handle. My asking price is the scrap (melt) value, but I am not advertising it as scrap because I want to preserve this wonderful work of art that displays the craftsmanship of yesteryear so magnificently.• Lavish repoussé decoration embellished with hand-chased, charming vignettes indicates this was a top-of-the-line piece.
