Beautiful antique Japanese Satsuma-style miniature jar or vase, measuring approximately 4 inches tall. The piece is finely hand decorated with a detailed figural scene surrounded by bamboo, with richly patterned robes and extensive gilt accents throughout.
The cream-colored body displays the fine crackle glaze characteristic of Satsuma-type earthenware, complemented by intricate geometric borders around the shoulder and base. The underside bears a small Japanese maker/decorator mark.
Estimated to date from the late Meiji to Taishō period, approximately 1890–1925.
A beautifully detailed example despite its small size, with impressive workmanship and abundant gold decoration.
