This fine cabinet piece is a lovely example of late Victorian European art porcelain decorated in the historic Royal Vienna taste. The center features a beautifully detailed hand-painted portrait of Madame de Pompadour holding a delicate white flower stem, showcasing the soft skin tones and expressive eyes signature to the master painter \"Wagner.\" The authentic signature is located in the lower right background.

The wide, ornate border is heavily decorated with brilliant gold gilt, detailing bowls of flowers, classical acanthus leaf scrolls, ribbon bows, tooled fringe garlands, and raised turquoise cabochons. The reverse features an over-glaze blue beehive style mark, the hand-scripted title \"Pompadour,\" pattern indicator \"Dec: 632 Déposé,\" a long sequence of iron-red tracking numbers, and an impressed shape/mold number 24.
