Antique Victorian-era King James Bible printed by Eyre and Spottiswoode, Printers to the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty. This New Subscription Edition contains the Old and New Testaments along with extensive study and reference material, thumb indexing, “Aids to the Student of the Holy Bible,” and a wonderful collection of original color biblical maps.
The maps are especially attractive and include subjects such as Canaan divided between the tribes, the Holy Land, the dominions of David and Solomon, Judah and Israel, the Peninsula of Sinai, and the missionary journeys of the Apostle Paul. Several maps retain beautiful pastel coloring and detailed period cartography.
Features include thumb-indexed books, red page edges, reference columns, extensive study material, and multiple color maps throughout.
Condition:
Antique condition with age-related wear. The exterior binding shows wear and some separation along the spine edge. The interior hinge/endpaper area has been reinforced or repaired with burgundy cloth binding tape. Pages show toning, staining, edge wear, tears, and occasional losses consistent with age. The title page has visible tearing and wear. Some map pages show age toning and wear, and one pictured map has separation/tearing along the upper fold or binding area. Thumb tabs also show wear. Please review all photos carefully for condition.
