Beautiful antique Victorian shadowbox framed albumen portrait dating to the late 19th century, circa 1880–1895. This impressive wall display features an original sepia albumen portrait of a young Victorian woman housed behind convex glass with a hammered gilt background and an ornate oval surround inlaid with iridescent mother-of-pearl (abalone) pieces. The decorative gilt composition frame is richly detailed with Eastlake/Aesthetic Movement styling.
The frame measures approximately 20" x 18" overall and makes a striking display piece for collectors of Victorian antiques, antique photography, or period home décor.
