This is six guaranteed old thumbscrews, there are two sets available. These decorative Victorian coffin screws, also known as casket thumbscrews, were specialized fasteners with ornate, wing-like or decorative heads that family members manually screwed in the lid during a final funeral ritual. There would have been matching bezels mounted on the lid. They are all in decent condition with only a little tarnish from age. The thumbscrews are 2 ½ inches long. The last photo shows both sets.
