Antique c 1900s Hand Painted Silk Sewing Case Needle / Pin Book Sewing Kit Roll.
Description: This hand-made and hand-painted brown silk sewing case, likely dating from 1900 - 1910, features a hand-painted image on the front of a ladies' purse and umbrella, and the motto, "For Needle or Pin, Apply Within." The interior features two pink silk pockets, two wool leaves for needles, and several ribbons holding in thread skeins, needle packets, pin packets, etc. The back is finished with a brown ribbon bow. At 8" long, it's larger than most handmade sewing cases. An unusual, handmade sewing accessory for your early primitive sewing collection.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, with minor wear to the silk at the corners. (See photos.)
