How to update software for Autel MD806?

To ensure a successful update, please follow the steps below.Do not connect the scanner directly via USB, as this will cause issues.

Update Procedure:

• Step 1.Take out the SD card from the MD806 and format the SD card to FAT32 format with a card reader via your computer. (Delete all the information on the SD card);
• Step 2.Download and install the Maxi PC Suite from our official website onto your Windows computer;
• Step 3.Install and run Maxi PC Suite on PC, log in Autel ID(enter your Autel ID and Password), you will get the list of softwares, then install ALL the programs on SD card;
• Step 4.Insert the SD card back into the MD806 and turn the device on.

Important Notes:

• 1)You must register your MD806 on the Autel official website before updating.
• 2) Software updates are only supported on Windows computers; macOS is not compatible.

ABS

An anti-lock braking system (ABS) is an automobile safety system that allows the wheels on a motor vehicle to maintain tractive contact with the road surface according to driver inputs while braking, preventing the wheels from locking up (ceasing rotation) and avoiding uncontrolled skidding. An ABS warning lamp that is on usually means trouble and you need to pull the code to figure out what is wrong. The MD806 scan tool provides convenient service to read and erase codes for the ABS system.

SRS Diagnostic Scanner

Autel code reader MD806 allows you to read codes, clear codes (turn off the SRS indicator light), and read live data in Supplementary Restraint System to ensure it works fine. Engine System Diagnostics

Transmission

The job of a car’s transmission is to make sure that the right amount of power goes to your wheels to drive at a given speed. It works by shifting gears and if you don’t keep it well-maintained, you’ll lose fuel economy or maybe not even be able to drive at all. This OBD2 Scanner helps eliminating the warning light by the clearing diagnostic trouble codes function, but crucially this diagnostic tool can read DTCs to locate the cause of the trouble, also view live data stream for recognizing current condition of the Transmission, so then you can address the issue timely.

EPB

The EPB is a system which controls the brake force by pulling the parking cable as in conventional existing parking brakes. EPB system includes a DC motor, a gearbox, a screw, a nut, a current sensor, a Hall-effect force sensor, an acceleration sensor and an ECU.

Oil Reset

The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change the engine oil and filter based on vehicle use.An oil change is required whenever indicated by the display and according to the recommended maintenance schedule.

BMS

The purpose of the BMS is to promised safe and reliable battery operation by monitoring and evaluating the battery states, including state of charge, state of health, and state of life, controlling the charging and discharging of the battery, balancing the cell etc. As an electrochemical product, a battery acts differently under different operational and environmental conditions

D/ P/ F and SAS Function

SAS measures the rotation angle, angle velocity and direction of the steering wheel, providing information on the direction in which the driver wishes to go. Steering angle sensors are required for systems such as ESC and are also used in electric power steering and active steering systems (EPS or AFS) aswell as parking assistance systems and curve lightsystems

Read Codes

Can be done with the key on engine off (KOEO) or with the key on engine running (KOER).This function is used to read the detailed information of a particular diagnostic trouble code for techniciansto better solve the problem.

Erase Codes

Is performed withkey on engine off (KOEO). This function is used to delete diagnostic trouble code when the fault the caused the specific DTC is fixed.

Live Data

In this function, you can not only read the live data but also record data for later review.

View Data

The View Data function allows viewing of live or real time PID data of vehicle’s computer module(s).

Freeze Frame Data

Allows the technician to view the vehicle’s operating parameters at the moment a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) is detected. For example, the parameters may include engine speed (RPM), engine coolant temperature (ECT), or vehicle speed sensor (VSS) etc. This information will aid the technician by allowing the parameters to be duplicated for diagnostic and repair purposes.

I/M Readiness

Function is used to check the operations of the Emission System on OBDIIcompliant vehicles. It is an excellent function to use prior to having a vehicle inspected forcompliance to a state emissionprogram.
