Offered today is a FABULOUS vintage 13 - 14k gold (vintage ring made before 1981) BIG rose flower cocktail ring. Everything about this ring is high-end--the mounting, the diamonds, the hefty gold and the way it is made overall. It has a great presence on the hand.The ring is set with a natural diamond (about 3.5 mm) in the center of the blooming rose. Textured \"leaves\" create the remainder of the face, with more diamonds set within the leaves. Total diamond weight is approximately .40 ctw in this ring. The diamonds are bright, fiery and eye clean. The head sits on a pretty basket mounting which meets the split shank shoulders.The face measures 3/4\" in diameter, and the head rises 1/2\" off the hand. It is hallmarked 14k with a maker\'s mark (but may test anywhere from 13k - 14k in \'s sensitive gold testing machine because it was made before 1981...see below). It weighs a hefty 10.1 grams, and is a size 6.25. A gorgeous diamond cocktail ring for those special occasions!
**PLEASE NOTE: Because of different gold testing practices, (traditional acid and stone test vs. \'s Authenticity Guarantee electronic gold testing machine), items stamped 14k such as this ring may read or actually be between 13k-15k gold, and if stamped 18k, may read or actually be between 16.8 and 19k. Until 1981, manufacturers of jewelry could use gold that was 13 karat or higher and round off, thus still stamping it 14k. Much of the jewelry sold on is older than 1981. **
