Vintage Ball Official Railroad Standard 435C pocket watch featuring a 21-jewel Swiss movement, adjusted to temperature, isochronism and 6 positions. From 1960, this Ball Official Railroad pocket watch is from the final generation of Ball’s storied railroad watch legacy. An attractive later-era Ball railroad watch with the classic Ball Cleveland Montgomery railroad dial, bold Arabic numerals, red five-minute markers and distinctive railroad hands. The movement presents very nicely with bright striped finishing, gold lettering and visible jeweled settings.The watch is housed in a Star Watch Case Company rolled-gold-plate case with attractive engine-turned/beveled bezel detailing. It shows normal wear consistent with age.Condition: The watch winds and sets properly and runs strongly dial-up. However, it stalls when placed dial-down, so it should be considered in need of service/repair for reliable operation in all positions. The dial has a repair near the 10 o’clock area along with age-related hairlines. The rear cover has some denting and closes, but does not fit tightly due to the dents.
