About the Artist
A Florida native, Barry Barnett spent his youth fishing the salt-water coastal flats and the black water banks of the St. Johns River. The cry of the osprey echoes in his creative mind, while images of gold and turquoise swim just beneath the silent surface of his canvas.
His artwork has been described as realistic/ impressionistic. The splash of marlin fin, the silent wing of eagles, the movement of muscle under fur of wolves, panther and Florida black bear are captured in bronze or stroke of brush. All move through a myriad of styles to present nature’s wonders in color and form, creating a sense of being able to reach in and touch or become a part of the subject or scene depicted.
Barnett’s artwork is displayed in private, commercial, government and military collections throughout the United States and more than 25 countries. His contributions toward humanitarian and environmental concerns have been recognized by state, national and international leaders.
