Benchmark Scientific’s SmartBlueTM Mini Compact Blue Light Transilluminator is ideal for viewing DNA gels stained with green dyes, such as SmartGlow, SYBR Green and SYBR Safe.
The SmartBlue mini size is perfect for small or crowded spaces, while still utilizing powerful LED blue light technology to produce a clear and evenly lit gel surface. Unlike UV transilluminators, blue light will not cause molecular damage to your samples and is safer for users (it is recommended not to stare directly at the blue light without protective eyewear or the amber cover). The blue light transilluminator is also compatible with gels stained with Ethidium Bromide (EtBr), though will not be as sensitive as a UV transilluminator.
