Topics include county geology, coal and anthracite, mineral resources, chromite, oil and gas, stratigraphy and geological surveys.Notable contents include Geology and Mineral Resources of Adams County, Pennsylvania (1932); Geology and Mineral Resources of York County, Pennsylvania (1939); Geology and Mineral Resources of the Southern Half of the New Bloomfield Quadrangle, Pennsylvania, Atlas 137cd (1967) by James L. Dyson; Geology and Mineral Resources of the Southern Half of the Clearfield 15-Minute Quadrangle, Pennsylvania, Atlas A84cd (1970) by Albert D. Glover; Pennsylvania Geological Survey Map 12, Map of the Mercer Clay and Adjacent Units (1964); and additional government survey reports and scientific papers.Two folded maps are confirmed: the Adams County foldout map and Mercer Clay Map 12 in its original envelope. Because of their large size and fragile vintage condition, the maps were not fully unfolded or checked. The York County map is not included. No separate maps or plates are confirmed for the New Bloomfield or Clearfield publications. One early Topographic and Geologic Survey Commission publication is incomplete and missing its cover/title page. Completeness of the remaining publications, plates, inserts or maps has not been verified.Condition varies throughout the bundle. Expect age toning, foxing/spots, stains, handwritten owner names/notes, library stamps/marks, edge and corner wear, tears, creases, staple wear and old tape repairs.
