This charming vintage Relpo ceramic baby rattle planter (#2210) is a classic mid-century nursery décor piece. Produced in Japan and distributed by Relpo (Reliable Glassware & Pottery Co.) of Chicago, these whimsical ceramic planters were popular gifts during the 1950s–1960s, often given at baby showers or to celebrate a new arrival.
The planter is shaped like a baby rattle with a decorative bow handle and features sweet transfer-print imagery of a toddler with small animals. This example is the pink “girl” colorway, with soft pink accents and hand-painted details.
Pieces like this are highly collectible and make wonderful additions to vintage nursery décor collections, mid-century baby memorabilia displays, or kitschy planter collections.
