🔥 THE HANGING HEARTS STORY 🔥
This design has an important connection to Fenton history.
Fenton’s original Hanging Hearts art glass dates back to the extraordinary off-hand glasswork produced at the factory during the 1920s.
For this 95th Anniversary piece, Fenton deliberately revisited that historic tradition. According to Fenton’s own documentation, tiny dots of Cobalt glass were applied over Willow Green Opalescent and shaped into hearts through multiple reheating processes. 💙🔥
This is NOT simply painted decoration — the cobalt hearts and flowing threads are hot-worked glass incorporated into the piece during its creation.
👑 DAVE FETTY — “THE KING OF HEARTS” 👑
Dave Fetty became one of the most respected craftsmen associated with Fenton Art Glass.
Before joining Fenton in the mid-1960s, Fetty learned traditional glassmaking at Blenko Glass in West Virginia. His mastery of difficult off-hand techniques eventually made his Hanging Hearts creations some of his most recognizable work, earning him the nickname:

Fetty’s work is especially admired because of the hands-on nature of its production. The molten colored glass was manipulated while hot, with repeated trips to the glory hole allowing the hearts, threads and overall form to be developed by the craftsmen.
Because of this process, each Hanging Hearts piece has its own individual character. ✨
