IRON CROSS FIRST CLASS MARKED J. WAGNER .S
imperial German Pre WWI 1st Class 1870 Iron Cross Decoration.
Measures 1 3/4\" wide by 1 3/4\" tall.
The front of the Maltese cross shows King’s crown on the upper arm with a ‘W’ in the center.
It is dated ‘1870’on the lower arm.
The reverse side is maker marked “J. WAGNER & S.”.
Has a wide vertical “T” bar style pin back with a “c” catch.
Three piece construction that has a die struck German silver frame with an iron magnetic center.
Awarded during the 1870 – 1871 Franco Prussian War for gallantry in combat action.
